We've had a wonderful start to Term 4 with students settling quickly back into school and engaging with classroom learning.
Principal News:
As you are aware, I have been in the Acting Principal seat since the second half of last term. Our Principal David Prete has had to take leave and then extend this leave, due to unforeseen and unpredictable circumstances. At this stage, I will be in the position for at least another fortnight. Thank you for your support and understanding in these matters.
Communications:
In Term 3, the decision was made to stop our fortnightly newsletters, as surveys indicated the audience reach of the newsletter was only about 5% of our parents. Most of our messages are delivered through our school's Facebook Page and through email updates from your classroom teacher, Vicki Chatfield our Business Manager, or myself. You will have an opportunity to give us feedback regarding our communication methods as well as a variety of other topics in a Parent and Community Engagement survey that is currently being developed. Watch this space.

Enrol now for 2021:
Our Prep transition program is in full swing, commencing with tours of the school and Prep Classroom experiences. It is very exciting to see these little ones becoming familiar with our school and with Mrs K. These visits from little people have also made us realise how big this year's Preppies have grown!
If your circumstances are changing in 2021, and you are moving from the area and school, please let me know. It is important that we have a clear understanding of student numbers to inform our class and staff planning for 2021. Email: principal@yungaburrasss.eq.edu.au
We would appreciate your help in spreading the word about how great the Yungaburra State School community is and to encourage families in our area to enrol at Yungaburra. We are taking enrolments in all year levels.
Yungaburra Markets:
The September Yungaburra Markets were a hit. Thank you to the following families for your support in keeping the Yungaburra Markets going: Bakker, Clam, Bolger, Hill, Brown, Gould, Kidcaff, Withers, Lowe, and Ruppin. Many hands make light work, and your hands were much appreciated.
Whilst we have a Market Manager to organise and coordinate bookings and site management, the Yungaburra markets rely on volunteers from the school. Come along and volunteer. You will be asked to do some of the following jobs: put up/pull down signage, complete a visual COVID checklist, man the information booth, distribute waste bins around the market grounds, put up/pull down information tent equipment. Upper School students are encouraged to attend as Social Distancing Fairies. The coming months are going to be BIG for the markets:

28th November: Toy Run
20th December: Christmas Markets.
